As promised, here are some photos of my work place, the 'Marine Explorer'
while she was in dry-dock in Santander, Spain - last 2 pictures are
"my other car -The QE2!
The 'Marine Explorer' was built in Germany in 1965,
originally as a stern trawler. She served for around 6 years in this role,
before being converted in various different roles, including dive support,
submersible mother ship, and as she is now, survey.
She is owned by a Norwegian company, Eidesvik Shipping, who operate
several standby, survey and support ships. At present she is on charter to
the Ministry of Defence doing survey work for the Hydrographic Offices
Naval Party, which includes depth gauging, bottom sampling and wreck
investigations for Admiralty Charts.
