CLASSIC TUG 1

A picture of my 1:62 scale working RC model of one of the classic salvage tugs of all time the JOHN ROSS. She was when built together with her sister ship WOLRAAD WOLTEMADE the most powerful salvage tugs in the world. She was built for me on commission by a professional model builder here in South Africa and everything works including Bow Thruster, Fog Horn/Hooter, Fire Monitors and a total of 49 electric lights. She looks stunning on the water.

CLASSIC TUGS 2

A picture of another of my scale R/C model tug collection and this time its the J.R.MORE which was the last steam tug built by Fergusons in Scotland for the South African Government and indeed one of the last built for anyone.
The original was built in 1961 and was withdrawn from service in 1984.Thankfully she was not sent to the breakers like some of her well known sister ships but was restored and is part of the display at the Maritime Museum here in Durban.A real classic in any language.
