Incredibly detailed cutaway model of the Titanic. Even down to the coal in the bunkers and the working engines - not boilers though %) I've watched it 4 times and see new detail each time.

I do tend to agree with the idea that most of these are annoying. Somehow they reek of "we can do it so we will" rather than having any need to do it.

Difficult one Martin.....many sound like an introduction to the unknown.....a wondrous experience  :o

Without throwing a Spaniard into the Works [courtesy Lennon].. so Mayhem should not be depicted as unknown, but all things nautical?

In one example, we heard some pinging of submarines [to specific].......and I am not suggesting 'Rule Britannia'...or the water sound from a leaking Fawcett {-)......however is there something more middle ground?...with waves or something?

Derek's idea of a change of music to a modest Nautical intro seems to be the answer.  We have to bear in mind it will be the first sound people will hear, and mental decisions will be instantly made.
