Sequel 3…a deep sea submersible.
Many years back, around 1988 ish, I designed and built a scratch built submersible called Sequel, a prototype of things to come. The design for Sequel 2 was published in the AMS magazine ‘In Depth’, vol V1 number 2. This version was a much better performer, but due to the poorly prepared wood used in it’s construction, it foundered one day, and was lost with all hands, never to be seen again, despite the best attempts of the local diving club.
Now I’ve been reborn as a sub modeller, I’ve come up with a much altered, and hopefully much improved version, this time named Sequel 3.
The drawings are shown below, no construction methods are shown, just a basic layout, but a few rough measurements are there should anyone wish to give it a try.
It’s designed as a dynamic diving boat, but there should be room to install a basic static diving system if you wish.
If anyone gives it a go, then please let me know, I’d love to see another Sequel in action.
