Cwmbran Modellers Open Day
« on: September 05, 2008, 12:25:13 pm »

My local club is holding their annual Open day at Cwmbran Lake, South Wales, on the 14th September. We are located just outside of Newport in Cwmbran. easy access from the M4

All are welcome to bring along their boats or just to peruse the stands. Last years event was a great time, with all the local boat clubs participating from as far afield as Cardiff and Tredegar, to Bristol.

The opening times are from 10 o'clock to 5 o'clock and we pray for decent weather.

The clubs web site is :-

Here are a few shots of last years event, to give you a flavour .

Hope to see you there.

Sure are Ghostie. I was processing them even as you wrote.

We had a great day at the lake. The weather was kind to us with even a bit of sun to start.

We were supported by both Cardiff and Tredegar clubs who bought their stands and some prize winning boats.

Mark was there, demonstrating his Smoke machine, and attracted more people than the boat displays.

Here are some pictures of the event. I particularly like the 'Pedalo' and might have a go on this type of novelty craft. It certainly made the punters smile. The engineering was rather good, with the character moving head and arms on command.

All in all it was well worth a day out.
