At this time i have switched on the tv and on national geographic is a documentary on the salvage of the ferry .
Salvage code red , will be on again and looks good.

With regards to the "Jane", once they got all the coal off her why did'nt they just pull her onto the beach in the first place instead of sending divers in to try to patch her up and do a floata, I mean she looked rotten as sin in the first place???, also the "New Flame" the sweet bit was engine room that was in good nick, so according to the plan the stern was bent up at a angle so why did they not cut it off first then collect the cargo of scrap metal. Instead they spent weeks getting the cargo only to loose the stern section too bad weather and now a total loss. I not trying to be some expert here but would like to see some further insight to some of the decisions made, maybe you guys who have worked in the field could enlighten us. Also I hope the show us what happened to the Irish ferry on blackpool beach.

Craftysod, I think so far its only shown where they started picking off the lorries on the ferry deck which where supposed to be taken off intact or that was the "plan" but they then decided just to clear the deck by any means possible, I bet it was heartbreaking for someone to see their pride and joy artic being grabbed and torn apart by those big pincer/sheer jaws on those diggers. Then a storm set in and when it was all over the ferry was virtually on it side, this begs the question, when they first got to the job why did'nt they just dig a trench in the sand along the keel so the vessel would roll into it thus righting itself to be refloated on the next high tide, I've seen it done before for a trawler that went aground.

Could have been something to do with the buried outfall pipe that it was lying across. 
The original plan might have worked out if the required high spring tide had not coincided with an even bigger storm than the one that dumped it there, which shifted the list from amazingly dangerous to fairly ridiculous.  Of course, the next suitable tide was also accompanied by a storm, which all but inverted the ship.
