It's not just the carrier "they" are complaining about. "Sir Percivale" is also due to be demolished there. I know all about the asbestos in that class as it used to rain down on top of my bunk in heavy weather! But as half the class was built in Glasgow and the other half on the Tyne I really cannot see why "they" are complaining. Also, having been involved in various refits where "nasty sruff" was removed, I can personally vouch for the precautions and care taken during such removal. Good luck to the firm involved.
Sorry, Bartapuss, but as you well know, Hartlepool is by no means the most blighted town on the NE coast. Some of the smaller towns have become almost derilict since the coal mine closures...at least Hartlepool is trying to put itself back together again, which is more than can be said about our N.Tyneside council which is still fighting the old class war.BY.
