Blackpool Model Boat Show

Had a wonderful day at the Blackpool Show, for me, best yet, sailed my Maggie M on Monday, the Fleetwood boating lake is superb. Mick :-))

Weren't there rumours, some time back, about the lake closing to model boats?

A few years ago, the causeway in front of the bridge in the picture collapsed, emptying the model lake into the main lake, but this has been repaired.  Repairs took most of that season.  While the pool was empty, there is a story that the pump house was broken into and the contents removed.  Thats been replaced as well.  With that level of effort put in by the local council, the facility should be around for a good length of time yet.
As with all facilities like this, it is vital that we use it, and are seen to use it, to keep in check those in power who want to destroy the things that make life worthwhile in the future to save a few pennies now.
