I bought a RTR Aquacraft atlantic tugboat which needed some fixup to not look as much as a toy as it did from the box.

This is how it looks out of the box:



The whole boat is a mess when it comes to scales so I needed to get rid og about every "plastic fantastic" that was on the boat. + do some weathering.
















This is just the start of the weathering. I use oil paint (the same artists use on canvas)

The house needed some work. so I buildt this cases to hide the wireing.



Then I printed a lot og small wood planks on paper and started the real work :)









Here is a picture showing the nice curtains my girlfriend made for the boat :) I have removed the mess with the rust again after taking this picture.



So thats how far I have come so far. will keep you updated :)

I have in my plans to change the ESC and get a better propeller. Other than that it is just paint and build job.

Small update. a calendar is important :) and worked some more on the "table" or what it is called in steering house. Any suggestions on what more to do? :)

lighting, figures, make a barge to toe/pull, add rubber lego tires to the sides as 'bumpers' smoke for the funnel get the winch working lists as long as your imagination

I think I am done with the boat now. At least my rebuilds and weathering. :) Next up is better propeller and sound system.

I went for it again :) ripped it down and started with the goal to make it more in scale. here are some work in progress pictures :)

I cut down the "house?", chimney and the wheelhouse. made a new roof out of the old one and did a repaint. I plan to make the deck on the house green and not black like it is now. I also added a ledcontrolpanel for the wheelhouse :)

The boat is now assembled and works. All that is left now is details and more weathering. :) the sizelimit of attachement made the pictures kinda small...

Thanx :) I like it a lot better now too. it needs a lot of work on the weathering. Really looking forward to the spring now.

Nice job, i need to do some weathering, but worried it will go wrong.
What scale is it?

it is about 1:35. Thats the closest I get on finding a crew at least :)

Weathering is fun and quite easy if you find the right set for it. Rustall is kinda easy to use (it is a wash). Or you can buy a weathering set with powders for the job. thats the kind I like best.
