dave.
as martin says there is a pool it's 32 foot by 40 foot but not everybody uses it. it is your choice but makes a better weekend if you do i think plus you can night sail on saturday purely for your fun

see you there were up there in 9 hours to put the pool up

Looks good, I'll be making use of it. I can't see the point of bringing boats and NOT sailing them, that's half the fun. I'm leaving Stoke after 9 on Friday so hoping be there for 1ish. Make sure the weather is good! Dave.  :-))

Hoping to do a ballast test on my Hermes Saturday night, anyone got a (huge) wet suit?

Rex that is some model to be proud of look forward to seeing it in the water, lifeboat will be on standby if required, but I am sure it wont be needed.

See you there

Hi everyone,
Well only a couple of days until the Southern Model Air Show.
We have been to the Hop Farm today. The pool has been erected
and is filling up with water as we speak.
As last year it is being filled up from the mains, so nice clear water again
this year.
Look forward to seeing you all.

regards
Alan

Ah yes that was yesterday!. Today Saturday was pouring with rain on and off until mid afternoon and very windy at times.
A lot fewer Traders as well, but it was nice to meet up with boaters old and new.

cheers dave......I know the boat.......I made the plugs for it, for Dave Metcalf.........just wondering why Models by Design is now producing it, unless Andy's doing it on Dave's behalf.

this is what it looks like when finished..........was in fact a test bed for the new FCB2 until the RNLI decided to build/persever with the jet drive boat.......the real boats are built by Safehaven marine, in Cork, Eire

it also comes with a full set of resin and white metal fittings that I mastered.

sailed well and was an incredible sea boat..........   never got round to making an interior for it though, sadly. {:-{

Hello all, Number 6 now back home after a great weekend at the Hop Farm. Good to catch up with friends and fellow mayhemers and make new friends. I hope everyone got back home safe and sound. Definitely recommend the show, plenty to see and do and a wonderful atmosphere. I've booked my spot for next year. I'll be posting photos from the show, have a look, there was a huge selection of boats on display, I really do like the new pilot boat from Models By Design, anyone thinking of a lifeboat or similar should check it out, complete kit too except for motors! Going bed now,, been a long drive back, Dave.  :-))

Right, here goes first batch of photos. There was so much to see I'm trying to put the best ones on so bear with me, 'postimage' site not working for some reason?? They're in no particular order but I'm going do 'on water' first, static displays then general, hope you like them. Appologies to anyone I missed but didn't even get many shots of my own boats on the water either, Dave.  :-))

As promised pics of new Models By Design Pilot boat, very nice it is too. Andy's doing a virtually complete kit, less motors. It's brilliant on the water too with great turn of speed and maneuverability. I certainly wouldn't mind one! It was generating a LOT of interest anyway, couple of pics of their Trawler Cat too, Dave.
