EARLY COMMERCIAL STEAM BOATS.
« on: May 20, 2011, 01:56:54 pm »

I would like to have that which my parents could not afford to buy me, ie a Bowman steamboat.
A quick google search shows names like SNIPE and SEAHAWK.
Can anybody kindly tell me if any information is available in terms of plans, dimensions, boiler sizes etc, to enable a similar to be made.
No doubt this question has been asked before, but if you think it not worth persuing, then please tell me.
I have just started on a Hobbies as this seemed a good starting point.
Thank you for reading.

Hi,
I think we all wished our parents would have been rich enough to buy us a Bassett Lowke or Bowman launch!
Other than the Hobbies one which you are already aware of myhobbystore offer a Bowman replica plan and hull called Celia May. This was designed by Basil Harley. I believe it makes into a nice launch.

Thought this may be of interest.

If you find or know of any others please let us know.
Tony.
