Well I'm far too young to remember them at the time  but they were still a thing when I was growing up on repeats.

.....also, who'd have known the association with tipex until I read this?  Every day a school day!

Still doesn't cover the whole cost of the shout, they should have been made to pay the lot. MAybe sentenced to at least 12 months community service fund raising for the RNLI.

Do all the other Drivers now have to salute Sir Lewis{-)

As now 'Driver to the Monarchy', will he get to keep the old battered Range Rover Equipe that the late Prince Phillip rolled a few years back?

Can he now qualify as 'Driver of the Horses' of Princess Anne [Royal KG, KT, GCVO, GCStJ, QSO, CD] as a part-time job after his $50 Million Pound per annum racing driving career concludes?

With his newfound position and Ranking in British Nobility  Hearadeldry ...can he overturn <*< the latest F1 race result? %)

Never be a Hundredth the DRIVER Schumie was. Get rid of all the gizmoes, ship to shore radio, bits of C/F hung all over and back to DRIVING. Too much money involved.

I've lost interest in F1 now and again but can't wait to see how George Russell does in a Mercedes next year. Was just a pity he didn't win when he stood in.

Watch the lower stuff
Getting to the point that
if a driver farts on an overtake
its an unfair advantage.

Taking a top QC to a race  makes
it more of a business.

Does anyone else think the race officials interfere too much, grid penalties, fines and points deducted. They don’t put themselves at risk. Let them race I say.

Conspiracy Theory -

It is all a set up, the commentators mentioned in lap 12 that only a safety car would make a difference.
Next - a crash occurs involving one son of a former champion i.e. MS's son
its all done to boost waning interest as LH is consistantly winning the championship

No matter how many rules and regs the FIA generate there will always be clever designers looking for better ways to cheat without getting caught. Part of the cyclic nature of teams winning.

Our [Australian] ABC news last night reported that Mercedes has withdrawn their Official protest to the latest F1 race result, however in the same blurb, suggested that Sir Lewis is considering his future and options in Motor vehicle racing  %)

Maybe that offer from the Princess Anne [Royal KG, KT, GCVO, GCStJ, QSO, CD]. is more appealing than the alternative :-X

I'm probably wrong but I believe I noticed that current Scalextric slot guides lift the front wheels off the track. Is this correct? Is this fair? I don't remember this being the case when I was a lad, nor did they have magnets. Perhaps this is where F1 got their engineering ideas from?  >>:-(
OK I was watching the Hornby programme about the Lambo Countach!

Not just Scalextric cars, but many of the other manufacturers do that too.

Having said that, the higher-tech slot racers have adjustable height front axles so you can have the wheels clear of the track, have them in firm contact or have them just brush the track a little as the car leans into the turns.

Having just the rear wheels on the track and the guide in the slot gives the car 'tri-angular stability' which makes for more predictable handling.

I recorded that program Tony - I look forward to seeing it later today.

Ref F1 - The last race was good to watch with lots of things worthy of discussion and comment - probably for years to come  %)

It's been 80 years , the infamous wreck of the Liberty Ship SS Richard Montgomery , sitting just off the shipping lanes to the Thames and Medway with 1400 tonnes of TNT in bombs and shells waiting for something to happen !   They originally shifted much of the cargo but what is still down there was considered too dangerous to touch. But now further decay structurally has prompted the decision to send in the navy to remove it before the inevitable happens .  This will doubtless be a relief to the residents of Sheerness and might see an increase in property prices in the area . Looks like it will be a tricky job , they obviously have not trusted putting the job out to a commercial contractor.
