Went to set up this afternoon......much bigger than last year with more rooms.
Be careful when wandering around, there are extra rooms downstairs at both ends so make sure you see them all.....and don't forget upstairs.
Who cares if it rains, they are all undercover apart from the ponds.....

The Model Boat Convention got off to a great start this morning, already plenty of visitors by 10.30 and lots of space to move around in.

The extra rooms and additional eateries have made the whole Convention seem more relaxed and you have time and room to study the models in detail.  I am very envious of the craftsmanship shown in so many of the models.

Many people ate their picnics while sat in the stand enjoying the sunshine and watching the boating pools.

The Convention goes from strength to strength and the organisers together with Haydock Park are to be congratulated on this year's event.

I really enjoyed Haydock today - plenty to look at and nice company/conversations too.
I quite enjoyed watching the tug football match too.

Best for my money .................... that all brass landing craft fascinated me - would love to know more about it
.......... and the guy with the Hermes - how brave to take that on as a first boat build.

Regards Dave

It was a bit earlier in the afternoon that a loud noise was heard and everybodies eyes turned to the skys, for a few minutes it was thought that His L'ordship Martin Of Mayhem had decided to pay the convetion a visit, But Sadly no it was just a newly wed arriving fo r their function in a neighbouring sweet

Well despite the Tiny bit of rain we had last night  %% the day gradually improved until it was actually quite sunny !.  Busy again and my wallet suffering a bit loss at the Clubb 500 stall , now the owner of a off white 500 with flashing lights ..
We were going to get one of the Ghosts which I think look pretty cool but my son decided he wanted this in stead..

Took quite a few more pictures today so will post them asap, Currently uploadinmg a video of the Ribble V's Manx Pollux tugball match (Never seen so many of the Pollux's on one pond..)

GRAUPNER  if you read this get the darn thing back into production and not as an RTR as it will only get gutted.. :-))

That was quicker than I expected..

Link to the big match.
