Can anyone suggest the correct size tube (external dia.) of a working bow thruster to fit in a speedline 1/16 severn. the tube supplied @22mm seems small, your thoughts please.
Thanks

Hi Stuart,
Not started yet, just trying to get all the bits and pieces together before starting.
Will go with the 22mm.

Hi Gerard,

I have installed a 22mm brass bow thruster --> http://www.hobby-lobby-modellbau.com/onlineshop/product_info.php/info/p3912_Bow-Thruster-20-mm---Brass-Tube---1-Prop----5101-11.html

Here also some pictures of the installed bow thruster:

I hope that helps.

Cheers,
Markus

Hi Markus,
Thanks for the info, it looks a very substantial unit, and pricey.
It certainly looks the bees knees.

Hullo Markus.......the sectional image of the 5101-11 bow thruster does not show, but are the two 20 diameter tubes sealed to the central drive hub with an o-ring on each side? .........Derek

Hello Folks,

@Neil:
The bow thruster comes without motor. So the voltage depends on the motor you connect. The bow thruster has a 3mm shaft and you can connect any motor you want.

@Derek:
There is no o-ring between the tubes. Better you use some sealing paste or solder the pieces together.

Cheers,
Markus
