Gun Mounts c.1884
« on: September 12, 2012, 06:30:21 pm »

Hello All,

I'm in the early research stages for the build of a 1884 Colonel Carreau class paddle gunboat. They appear to carry 90mm cannon fore & aft, probably of the de Bange type. Can anyone point me in the direction of photos or drawings of the possible mounts? Pleeeeze!

Thanks

Tony

Tony,

Wikipedia has detailed drawings of De Bange 90 mm cannons, just type it in google.

Thanks Jimmy,

I'd seen the article but all the mounts seemed to be for field pieces rather than naval mounts BUT on another search, it led me to the right one.

Thanks again :-))

Oh, and it led me to this bit of the (Italian?) Army
