falke
« on: December 26, 2012, 10:46:19 am »

Hi
I was wondering if anyone could help, for being such a good boy last year santa brought me a new model boat kit, its a kit of the Falke. The problem I have is all the instructions etc are not in english, does any body know if there is an english version available anywhere, or any other help would be much appreciated

Cheers

Is it this one?

Have you tried giving Puffin a ring as they import them and athough they dont include English Instructions they may have an answer to any questions. They are just round the corner from me north of Bristol and they are always very helpful.

Hi David
Looks great, looking forward to building it, any info would be much appreciated. It was supplied with a MIG 500 turbo race motor, is this what you used to power it. Its says on the box - transmission 1:3, the motor does not look like it has a reduction box on it so I take it have to fit one.

hi steve

did you get a plastic deck with the kit, only if you did are you going to use it,if so then the timber frame you have fitted isnt needed as the deck sits on the ridge around the hull, you plank on to the plastic deck.this was how i built mine hope this helps.

david

if you look at reply picture 8 you will see the plastic edge around deck hole

Hi David
I did not get a plastic deck with the kit, so it looks like its wood all round :-) Hope it works out at the right level
Cheers

Looking good Steve, nice bit of planking - something I've never tried yet. What adhesive are you using for the timbers?
                                              Regards, Tony  :-))

Hi Tony
I used UHU all purpose adhesive, unsure how waterproof it was so giving it a good coating in varnish. The next big problem, what colour????
Cheers

Cheers Steve, a question for Dave if I may, was all the fittings for your boat (as in post #6) complete with the kit or did you source any items seperately?
                                                         Regards, Tony.

hi tony,
what you see is what was with the kit.( but not the figuers and fenders made them my self). it is a good beginers kit, i got a plastic deck with mine so didnt have all the work that steve has done, just laid all my timber on that with black cotton down  all joints with very lightly coated with uhu glue (no i didnt melt plastic i used very sparsly and was very carefull.)
