Yes in Switzerland it is still possible to find a job. But not really easy if you are over 50 ....

I would have thought that you belonged to the much younger Millennials (or Generation Y as they are also often referred to).

Interestingly, quite a few companies here in Germany have begun to rediscover and appreciate the virtues and assets of mature employees lately.

That's also happening with a few companies here in NZ, then we get accused of stopping the school leavers from finding jobs.
But, the companies realize us oldies are required to train up the newbie youngsters before we disappear and there is no one to train the new.
Here and Australia, there is a gap in the workforce, where no one trained any new, so no young was employed. The missing generation gap is now evident.

Still looking great, that hull fine on the port bow in the previous set of pictures looks interesting. Could it be a sailing barge or similar ?

is the reddish paint coat only a layer of primer? I thought the CM had a light blue hull above the water line.

But the vessel in red would look also very interesting and would draw much attention I suppose.

@Mike: You're right. Its the hull of a italian sailing boat from the adriatic sea in 1/6th scale. I will finish it not as sailing boat but finish it as motorised boat to collect shells.

@Ralph: The Cornelia Marie has a red primer beneath the blue or black (under the waterline) color. The right colors are already on stock and waiting to be used.

You are fairly coming on......have you tried it in water yet with ballast ?

I would have thought being wooden and solidly built, you might not need much ballast

I bought that some years ago to built a 1/6 scale tank. And then I had planned to use it for welding some parts together for the Cornelia Marie ... too much hassle ... prefer ABS profiles and wood.

Wheelhouse protection pipes half done. The upper part will be on the wheelhouse so I can take it off. There is a M2 treaded rod inside that is poltet to the deck.

Thanks a lot Mike! All pics are taken with my iPhone ... I wish I could take them with my big Nikon but its too dirty in my buildig space for it to use.

Today I did the handrails on deck.

I will not comment on the following Airbrush session I did ... 2 cheap sets did not work at all and only the third set I bought incl. compressor did work very well! Next time I will buy an expensive one from the beginning ....

I'm no professional with spraypainting .... the results are not very nice but I will used to it.

And I did try out the turquoise blue I bought some time ago ... its a special airbrush color that was very expensive but its wonderful to work with.

I added a lot of white to the blue to get nearer the original one. Blue color on pics a little bit darker than it is in reality...

Hi Danielle,

your build is making rapid progress.
Now as more and more detail is being added it is getting ever more interesting to follow.

I know, you had written that the first layer of blue paint was merely a test run to get acquainted with your airbrush pistol.
I cannot remember which were the better systems and devices. The ones that have the paint cup below the pistol's muzzle or those on top of it, as yours?
I think the latter are the better and more expensive devices. Just in case I can ever afford to buy me a set.
But the colour looks a wee bit too dark to me when comparing with the colour photos of the CM that I have seen.
Might be accounted for the well-known darkening effect of exactly the same colours (e.g. RAL Nos.) when applied to the small surfaces of a model as compared to the large areas of the original vessel.

Looks your chances of finding a job will increase soon, now that the Swiss People voted in favour of curbing labour immegrants from e.g. Germany and Italy.

Never mind, only pulling your leg.

However, yesterday's Bloomberg comment on the outcome and possible effects of the referendum was even harsher than that of the BBC above.

Thanks Ralph ... will get some time till I'll find a job but I don't give up. Will take a lot of time till the result of the referendum will change something.

I had 2 cheap airbrush pistols with the cup below but they never worked properly. I then bought a set from my local DIY shop for 100£ with the cup above and a air compressor. This set works fine. The color is much lighter than on the pictures. I checked it in the sun and it looks allright.

Everyday a new part. Today its the anchor and its support.

As you say it depends on the light, as is shown in the two pics. The exterior shot looks darker than the one of the inside bulwarks in different light conditions.
I never realised what a Mickey Mouse arrangement she had for her forr'd anchor, especially in the seas around those parts. Looks like its just asking to be sent flying in a bad head sea, securing pins or whatever regardless !
