Tug Oakgarth
« on: May 29, 2007, 11:52:58 am »

Hi All,

I have just ordered an Oakgarth Tug Kit from Mobile Marine models.

This is my second attempt at a tug, after building a Kingston Mouldings Dutch Fire Tug a number of years ago.

As a newbie to the tug scene has anybody built one and can anybody steer in me the right direction?

Is there anything to watch out for please?

Regards

Simon

Hi Steve,

To be honest i have been building RAF high speed launches for years. I have this year also entered into the world of OMRA.

I was at the mayhem weekend and after running two sets of batteries out on my big RTTL got the tug out on Sunday and had a bit of fun pushing, pulling and steering in the rain. I had more fun than i have had in ages.

Got back and ordered one!

A friend of mine is also going to build one, but a different name and variant.

I reckon i will have ago at all of the above, hours of fun on one charge and don't need a great big lake. Not sure if they have courses etc down hear in sunny Essex!

Any pics would be great.

Regards
