model slipway trent 1/16th window frames
« on: October 04, 2013, 06:51:01 pm »

hi
obtained a model slipway trent is quite old and the glazing in the windows is yellowish and quite brittle.
I was hoping to get a set of trent window frames from somewhere so I can glaze them and replace them as I think the originals may get broke
removing the glazing as its quite thick.
Is there anywhere you can buy the window frames in 1 16th I know macsmouldings do 1/12th  frames
many thanks in advance

Hi Luke Speedline do a set and are more to scale, i put them on the Trent which was given to me by a member from my club, they do look better than the kit ones.
be prepared for the price.

Luke,

I have the Speedline windows on my MS Trent and they are very good but as you've discovered not cheap.

Just a note of caution though about retro fitting to a finished model; mine were slightly bigger than the openings in the kit.  So enlarging the openings may be necessary and on yours and you'd need to clear the debris from inside a sealed wheelhouse.

Also on the front windows, the openings are to large so you have to fill in. I used plasticard it did work well, so don't be put off with what has to be done. :-))
