Nope, thats A BSA M20 500cc single sidevalve dispatch riders machine... this I do know because at 17 years of age I bought one with a sidecar attached and ran it around for a few years. I paid a fiver for it and me and the seller dug it out of the back of his garage where it had lain for at least ten years.. and still had the same petrol in the tank which had gone off and stunk the place out when we filled the float chamber. The old girl took a handful of kicks to get up and running and he drove me home on it, about five miles and not even a misfire.
Built like a tank, drove like one and was unstoppable. I actually towed an 'old sit up and beg' Ford Popular to a garage with this machine, albeit in first and second gear but it did it.
Sold it fully running to a friend of mine for a quid!

To true Rob, before I brought her I read quite a few reports on these things,
and without doubt these things are as mad as a bucket full of eels.

Every time I go out on it I tell myself to be sensibable, and that lasts till I get out

Whats the score with getting a full bike licences these days, done my CBT and then passed test on a 125cc about ten years ago??

This seems to change on a regular basis but the last time I was involved with it the CBT was only valid for two years.

just apply for your full licence as long as you applied for your 125 licence after you passed your test, pass slip lasts for two years if you do not update licence. Easy

The love of my life,before i met "she who must be obeyed"was my GSX1100 Katana,1982 mod
i had her for nigh on 12 years,and only sold her cause i was finding the riding position did little to help the pain in my motorcyclists knees,elbows and back,

I got her in 1989 and over the next 12 years i did almost everything to her,
I fitted an 1170 Cosworth big bore kit,
a Straightline welded billet clutch,
GSXR front and rear wheels
a JMC extended deep braced swing arm,
Marzocchi shocks
38mm flatslides
all the bolst were replaced with SS,
but no matter how much i did to that bike,she still would,nt go round a corner,she was pushing a 127BHP at 8,000 revs, in a straight line, very little could catch her,but when it came to the bends,it was a different story,or perhaps it was my bottle,
Now i,ve got an old FZX 750 "baby V-Max some call her,
and i can get my leg over no bother, {-)she,s an 89 model,and still in good nick,

I added this 1974 Honda CB 550 to my stable last year. It hadn't seen service in 20 years and was stored in a neighbour's barn. I redid all the rubber and carbs. It runs like a dream. Handles beautifully, particularly in town traffic when compared to my Goldwing.

I bought a Honda Four for my wife to ride in the older Classics type rides,
very similar but was a 72 CB 500, was even the same colour runs like a clock..........

Its nice to see so many guys into bikes and of course boats, getting close to the 50+ mark soon been riding bikes for around 34 years, and still learning, never own a car,
over the years had 125's, rd250 yams and a gpz1000 but the strain in the old hips was to much so got rid of it and now ride an er5, ok its not the best bike ever made
but still puts a smile on my face ever so often

It is near enough a year to the day since I reignited my passion and bought myself a large touring Goldwing.

Unfortunately, my body got a little worse, and they have had to put me on a medication that stops me from riding (for the moment), so with deep regret, I have had to SORN the bike from the end of this month. With loads of new chrome already fitted and a load more to go onto it, it will keep me busy for a while rebuilding it back to original.

The few months I got to ride it, has left me feeling that I needed to do it, but if I can ride no more, then at least I tried, but if I get the chance again, I will be out onto the country roads like a rat up a drainpipe.

I got my k1100lt supabrick a few months back and this one feels a lot heavier than the last one I had or am I getting older perhaps it's time for a Deauville - I've always needed sit up an beg tourers (back problems) and acquired the taste - first was an R80RT then K100x2 Pan K1100ltx2. Previously tried a Jawa 350/Velorex sidecar - great fun but suicidal - back to a K11 now.
