As far as I am aware, Oakleys came in 37 or 48 feet (mainly 37). Rothers were an adaptation of the Oakley so 37 feet again.

Watsons came in 41 feet.

Theoretically yes.

The Oakleys had a well deck up forward, whereas the Rothers had a survivor cabin. The Rothers also had a fully enclosed wheelhouse.

I happen to have a model of an Oakley, RNLB Lloyds II, so if you need pictures then just ask  ok2

Hi Magister....just got your message now the site is back up....the Clyde lifeboat mouldings are now produced by Models by design..........but all the resin fittings are now copyright, courtesy of Speedline Models, aka FLUNDLE/Adrian Gosling on here..........I sold him the moulds to the fittings and the copyright a couple of years ago, and if you ask him he can cast them for you

Bill........all lifeboats were measured BP in their original guise, as all the double ender lifelboats had their rudders on the outside of the stern rudder post, unless modified with the rudder being placed inside the deadwood on some specials for the stations they were at.......the 41' boat is a totally different hull to the Rother/Oakley.....different profiles at all sections as well as obvious length.
Modern lifeboats are measured LOA

Ned

I thought the OP may have been looking at one in the original post, hence why I only mentioned the 41 feet ;)

Oh, and a couple of Oakley model pictures, sadly the builder (my grandfather) is no longer with us, but his models live on (this one's nearly 25 years old!)

Oakley & Rother hulls are slightly different. The Rother hull is 37' 5" long and the Oakley hull is 37' long, 6" difference(don't tell the wife) but they are slightly different you can buy the Oakley (ROTHER) hull(37.5" 1/12 scale) from models by design and you can buy the Oakley hull (37" 1/12 SCALE) from scooner models in skelmasdale( my spelling is rubbish)
