Ok you towers & none towers this is your chance, if you class your self as a Pro this is your
your chance to pass on your knowledge to the amateur tower, if you are a amateur or you've not
towed before then this is the time to get help from the professional, no tug no bother we can
provide one. This event is on two days Sat 21st June & Sun 22nd June 10.30 ish start
refreshments will be available both days. M M Marine will be in attendance, If you were here
last year you may see Ann Ward again with her flying tent
Please come and enjoy your selves.

this has got to be one of the best ways of trying before you buy lol use someone elses tug and see if you like it all with the friendliest bunch of old folk lol you would ever wish to meet I for one will be going if you have ever wondered what its like come down for this event you wont be disapointed

Hi Folks
To put some people in the picture this w/ends Pro/Am is not a Towing competition it is more
for the amateur tower to get more knowledge of what happens & how to correct the situation
they may be in. We at Balne Moor m.b.c. have had skippers of full size tugs come & have a go
they have had problems getting round a course & said we will keep to full size, so have a little
little faith & come & have a go there is lots of help at the pond side

this I going to be great you turn up put ya boat on the water tie up and just sail if ya want any advice it is there if you don't have a boat come nic one of the spare tugs to have a go with no pressure I cannot wait cleaned the van and have 30 tins of beans for food no frills lol

Hi all i will be coming up with steve .for a cracking day of tug towing . like steve says its a good venue for tugtowing if u fancie a go coming join the mottlycrew and have a go looking forward to seeing the scotslads again had a cracking day with them a cuple of weeks ago

Come on all....we're all waiting on the pics being posted.
John and Wullie from GRMBC reported today they had a great time on Saturday....hospitality was superb.
Chris, Norry, Tommy and Johnny are heading home and also reported they had a great time.
Pity to have missed it. Defo one for the calendar next year.

hi guys sorry for the delayed response. what a weekend I got there Friday 6pm helped weed and sort pond then sailed till 10:30 bloody sun fell out the sky ended fun. bright sat morn up and out to put san George in the lake which involves some 50 bottles of water as ballast gave her a quick wash down and she was ready. The tent for mobile marine models was also put up the night before so only tables and stock for brian and ann to sort which looked great I might add. the running for the Saturday normally consists of a free for all with me and others pushing people to sail one of our tugs and see if they enjoy it enough to come again everyone I spoke to seemed to have had a great time with whatever tug they were handed and with the old pro's at hand for tuition if needed the day was a great success

I was thanks to mike ellis reunited with a tug I built but never finished about 5 years ago so just before Friday I gave it a coat of paint and wired her up and took her to balne she sailed very well

Hi Folks.
On behalf of Balne Moor m.b.c I would like to thank all the People that attended the Pro/Am
whether it was to sail or look on. Thanks to the guy's who put time in to get the show ready
not forgetting our top class staff in our catering department sooper job well done on both days,
also thanks to Glasgow Richmond Club partys came down on both day's over 400 miles round trip
but can't get local clubs to come, thanks to York club they had a good day towing. I will now try
to put some pics on.

FREEDOM is built on a hull from Marks Model Bits ASD Tug Kit...There is a Build Log somewhere on Mayhem...
Fitted with a Graupner 1785 Bow Thruster running on 7.2 volts...A Working Towing Winch made from a small MFA Motor with 100/1 Gearbox running on 4.8 volts...
The Propulsion Power is provided by a 12 volt Marx Decaperm with 2.75/1 Reduction Gearbox which turns a single 70mm Kort Prop inside a Steerable Kort Nozzle...Power is provided by 2 x 12 volt 4Amph Lead Acid Batteries...
Quite a lot to fit inside a 24 inch long hull...Thats why there is no clear windows in the Wheelhouse as all you would see is a load of electronics...
The tug is based on a Damen Stan Tug 1907...A small compact tug which is easy to carry up the 4 flights of stairs to my current house...

I built her for myself but Johnny decided that he wanted her so its back to the Model Boatyard in the Winter to build another new tug for myself...I hope I get to keep this one...

The next photo's is an old tug single screw & rudder board, Richard from York m.b.c.
did a top class job to say it was the first time he as towed.
