"PATRIOT" by John Smith Copy 1
« on: September 26, 2014, 07:27:11 pm »

The "PATRIOT" offshore model power boat by John Smith is no Longer available from  any source other than that of Riptide Models or John Smith PERSONALLY .the moulds were collected from Prestwich Models supplier  "James Taylor" of Taylormadeboats  and returned to John smith on 26/08/2014... any boats sold after this date are of a questionable nature ,as we were assured there were no other boats available nor moulds replicated to produce this boat .. The boat  is also known as a "Saturn" which was the production name of Prestwich Models..Please be aware that all boats produced with John Smiths authority have a production number laminated into the hull, if you have one without this number we would like to know its origin..MANY THANKS for your co-operation in this matter.....DenW on behalf of John Smith of Riptide Models....

Den

Your comments have been noted.

I suggest that any members of this forum that have made a legitimate purchase of such a hull from a reputable supplier/distributor, should have no need to consider looking for a production number "laminated into the hull". And they certainly should feel no obligation to share that information with anyone, you included Den.

nice to see john moulding them again may have to order myself one for next season ! :-)) :-)) :-))

from what i can gather theres only ever been james and john moulding the patriot due to the quality of there moulding

just a thought dennis you say there all numbered the original ones that john did in the heavy lay up were they numbered as i have one and mike barnes has 2 that we know came from john and they have no numbers mine was the one john gave scoop for the loan of the spirit of the south hull that he made the patriot out of and diggers were traceable back to john from other buyers

perhaps john could confirm this ?
