Servo not working.
« on: January 28, 2015, 04:33:23 pm »

Hi
I have a Spectrum DX5e which I am using with a Spectrum AR500 Rx. The AR500 binds to the DX5e without difficulty. However, I want to use a   Spektrum A3020 micro servo but when connected to the Rx nothing moves irrespective of which channel is used.
I bind the Rx and the TX as follows. Plug  in the power supply to the Power/Bind channel with the Blk wire
Inboard next to the PCB, Rx flashes fast, Tx training switch held on and main switched on, Tx light slows, training switch released and the Rx light then stays on. The servo is plugged into any channel but does nothing with the Blk wire inboard
if the plug is reversed so that Blk wire is outboard, the servo twitches uncontrollably . is this a case where certain components need to match.
I haven't quite got to grips with 2.4m yet but it seems the way to go.,
Cheers
Barrie

Are you using a bind plug?
The black wire on the battery and servo should be outboard with upright pins and
bottom with end pins.
The battery can go on any set of pins for binding then when the bind plug is taken out
after binding the battery can use the batt/bind pins.

Your binding seems to have gone fine, however Black Wire Inboard is most defo round the wrong way. You may have stuffed the servo, which should always be black wire outboard, signal wire inboard. Have you another servo you can plug in to check your channel outputs are still okay?

This illustrates the value of belonging to Mayhem when in trouble . Thanks to you Guys it's problem solved.
Apart from the fact that the plugs were the wrong way round, the borrowed home made binding loop was "duff". The use of a proper loop and re locating the plugs solved the problem and the servo has survived too!! .Sooooo how was I able to bind the Rx with the wrong confi.  Hmmm I suppose I'm only mildly interested now I have have emerged from the dark side.
Very many thanks
