Can any one tell me what sort of battery to use in my Clyde puffer I will be using a CEM900 motor &
A Steam & smoke simulator

Most Puffer need a lot ballast so Gel Cells (lead acid) batteries are very popular.

As Martin has said,
Loads of room for a large lead acid.
You will need ballast so batteries do
two jobs  Ballast and runtime.

Paul, from your earlier mention of the hull dimensions it's likely your model will end up massing around 12kg (26lb).


If you pop over to somewhere like the Component Shop you'll see 12V lead-acids that your hull can swallow. That particular one will eat up a useful 3kg of mass, cost you around £20, and give you a couple of hours' run-time.
