Often the servo or motors are hidden below the deck or inside the superstructure.
For my crane, I had a large gear motor driven by a standard ESC.
Martin Holst placed the servos inside the superstructure on his first boat, and
sometimes placed them next to the winch as mechanical boxes for the winches.

just placed out in the open to get the best operation.
