I am some what confused by the transmitter/receiver side of the radio control systems, (up to now have just built static models ).
I am building from plan a Fairey Huntsman 31 in ply construction. I have already a Flacon 5 motor. The points I need help with are:
Recommendations for Transmitter and what amount of channels, what comes with a chosen Transmitter, if nothing what else do I require to make my boat sail ready.
Also any recommendations where to purchase these items.
Many thanks for any assistance given.

Have a read of this article which will tell you most of what you need to know.

http://www.modelboats.co.uk/news/article/but-i-don-t-understand-electronics/18054

Basic R/C usually comes with one transmitter and one receiver. You can also opt to have servos included but you really only need one for the rudder. You will need to purchase a speed controller as well for the basic control functions which are one channel for the rudder and one channel for the speed control. Other refinements are optional but they are described in the article mentioned above.

Hope this helps,

Colin
