Sailing a yacht requires skills that you learn by sailing, no book will tell you what the wind will do next that's what makes it so interesting.
I've been a 'stick & hanky' (as Pirate on here calls us) since day 1, started with a 575, went up to a Marblehead & now race a Micro Magic.
I've still got the 575 & the 'M', but have converted the 'M' into a semi scale for pleasure sailing.
Watched your video & noted that the mast looked as if it was straight, try a little tip from me, put a small amount of tension in the backstay so that it creates a
very slight backwards curve in the mast, this will help with the shape of the mainsail & allow you sail better into the wind.
Welcome to the ranks of the 'peaceful' sailors.
