New guy saying hello.
« on: October 01, 2016, 09:44:23 am »

Hi I'm John.

I'm from near Alfreton, Derbyshire.

I have been into RC vehicles for over 25 years.

I've custom built trucks, scale 4x4's, crawlers, drifters, etc...

Most recently I have been a sponsored driver in 1/8 IC truggy racing.

I am now looking for a bit steadier pace, and would like to get a sailboat, and a scale tug, and possibly also a narrow boat.

If anyone is local to me I would be interested to hear where you sail, and where to go locally.

And where is "local" to you? how near Alfreton.

You haven't put your location on your profile.

Sorry, I've added it now. I'm only 1/2 mile away from Alfreton.

Welcome to the forum John.

I like the idea of a Narrow boat. I always wondered if anyone has dug a realistic miniature canal in their garden to sail Narrow boats? I reckon it wouldn't be difficult to build and operate locks.

I look forward to seeing your projects.

Yes , there is a chap in the USA has done a lock system in his back yard.  Do a search on RCGroups.com   He updates it from time to time.  Umi will know, she checks Mayhem frequently.
