Trawler Power Block Crane Plans/Drawings
« on: June 02, 2017, 09:34:04 am »

Hello Guys

Been a while since i last posted on the forum here..... I'm looking for a set of drawings of a power block for a trawler. I'm currently in the process of designing a power block head to be 3d printed, but just need a good drawing of the crane with some dimensions.

Does anyone have anything they could give me a copy of?

Cheers for looking

Try looking up the manufacturers, they may supply you with a plan/drawing. nemesis

Yes, Based on the Kinematics 26" power bolock.
I started with the outside frame, turning a blank side on the lathe.

Guys!!

Thanks for the replies over the last few days...
Here's a screen shot of the power block I'm designing for 3d printing over the coming weeks. Its based on Thistle Marine's 24" Power Block Head.
I spoke with them on the phone today and they've mentioned that they'll give me a set of drawings in PDF format over the coming weeks as there re-drawing there designs...

So fingers crossed i'll get the crane designed in the coming weeks,
Let me know what you think of the attached screen shot of my design do far.

Thanks for looking

Very Nice.  :-))
You're printing the parts yourself?

Here is a bit of crane info I have collected.

      Umi

Thank you for the pictures of the crane you posted, I’ll download them I’m sure they’ll come in handy in the coming weeks.

Please find attached a rough design of the Thistle lift MKB7 that I knocked up last night, its still a works in progress. I’m working of a photograph I found on the internet. I don’t have dimensions to work of just estimated them at the moment and see what it looks like.

I’m still trying to find an accurate drawing that I can base a design on.

What do you think of my work on the power block and the crane?

I’m working in Australia at the moment and as soon as I get home I’m going to get my designs printed to see what they look like…

I’ll post when its completed.

Hello Guys

Just wanted to upload a picture of my completed Thistle Marine power block head and crane.

This design is going to be 3d printed in the coming week. Its based on the BK7 5.5m crane by Thistle marine in Peterhead fitted with a 24" W shaped power block head. This model is scaled to 1/24th and also 1/12th.

The hydraulic rams will be fabricated separately and then fitted to the model.

Guys I'd love to hear your thoughts on my design, especially the power block head.

Thanks for looking
