Hello Folks,


I took up ship modelling about 9 months ago & to date have built the 1/450 Titanic, 1/350 Tirpitz, 1/200 Missouri & currently finishing the 1/200 Hood.


I am now trying to get the hang of RC modelling with 2 kits in the wings 1/90 Zwarte Zee (Billings) & a C-2 American Scout, for which I need the fittings set.


So I am looking to this great community for help on the following:


1. RC components required for motorizing models
2. Methods of lighting, running & hiding light cables
3. Reputed on line model kit stores
4. Reputed on line lighting outlets
5. Tool supplies


I am also shopping for a Robbe U-47 motorized kit with submerge capability.


I am looking forward to interacting with all you wonderful folks.

Firstly, a warm welcome to the Mayhem community.  I am sure there are many here willing to help you or answer questions.

You have already completed an amazing number of static ships in quite a short time.  Well done   

You will need a transmitter, plus a receiver in the boat.  After that an ESC controller for each motor, and a servo to operate the rudder.

Component shop do very small bright LED's, wiring and controls, plus batteries etc.  Very professional and prompt service.  Thin wiring can be run inside the superstructure.

I would recommend Cornwall Model Boats, and Dean's Marine for kits and fittings etc.

Tools you should be able to get locally. I assume you must have some to have completed the ships you have.
