My predecessor as curator at the Mull Museum, Alistair Garvie, many years ago made small model Clyde Puffers, which were sold at a local restaurant, the Puffer Aground, now long gone.
When he died a few years ago his widow Hilary gave me a box containing wood and other modelling bits. Amongst them I found some blanks for the hull, and other bits which would be enough to build five or six more models.
Now that the Mountfleet Sealight puffer is out of the way, I thought I would complete one of the little puffers.
Pics of the 'kit', and the completed model enclosed.
I don't know what Alistair sold them for, but he must have been making very little an hour in labour!
