Must be an English thing...we didn't get one.  Maybe Dookyembrah was gonny throw it in when he comes up to Balmoral after the royal landie gets the dents buffed out :D   PS to stay on theme, I`m 83.

Somebody has to apply for it & send marriage certificate etc then some, probably junior, clerk sends a card to the lucky couple saying that HM has commanded it be sent. I have no idea why but my parents in law saw it as important.

My daughter in law's parents
recently had theirs but I believe
one  of the daughters sent off the relevant
proof.

[A pity she cannot attract Federal $ for worthwhile Projects.....more Nurses in Hospitals [not bureaucrats] more Police....more Teachers for kids]
