That was a good idea Chris and I think you already know this but, it would also be a good idea to cut another few strips of the elastic to the same length, to keep as spares in case the first bit stretches over time. Good to see the problem has been overcome.  :-))

To show that there is no fixed solution, here is my version of elevating and depressing the guns on Phoebe/Hero, as it is linkd proportionally I have full control over speed of elevation/depression, and like chris's soluition it works for me

HI Bob well i thought of this straight away but it was no good for me yes it was ok while the servo pulled backwards an elevated the guns ok but when the servo pushes forward then it pushes the gun barrels down onto the deck so no good so i went for the flexible wire linkage  soluition an it works a treat but guns will only elevate on one side only but if it works for you Bob then all well an good

Chris i assume then from what you say yours are either on or off and not proportional, hence the path you used.

HI Bob sorry but i dont know what you mean as im usein the same micro servo as you are in your pic an yes i think they are proportionnal as i cant see what you mean by on an off as my servos all four are linked togeather to work from one channel an yes the all work great apart from the micro servo pushin forward to push the guns downwards as thats why i fitted a flexible wire link from servo horn to the guns to elevate an not when pushin forward as the gun barrels hit the deck an thats no good to me  :embarrassed: O0  AN Bob on my tigers deck  where the 3inch turret is mounted there is a large  deck area probberly a lot bigger than on your ships

I don't seem to get many good ideas these days, glad it worked!

Hope Jen's leg is getting better these days  All the best to both of you,

Chris
What I meant by proportional, was are you using one of the sticks to control the guns? if so that thats proportional as the turre/guns will move as far or fast as you move the stick, like the rudder. if its just on a switch then its not proportional will go flat out one way and same when switch is off.  If i recall that set has 4 proportional and alll the otheres are on/off apart from one which is 3 way. Well you deck would be biiger its a crusier mine is a Frigate  {-) {-) {-)  but my turret is bigger than you 3" {-)

Hey Chris no worries.  As you know my ankle is full of fancy titanium also -I'm only young at mid 40's but my surgeon was a very efficient German guy and I'm sure he knocked in a few extra screws for good measures.  My foot always gives jip this time of year -it's like a barometer but regular as clockwork the past 10 years.  I've had hot water bottles on my foot at night for a few weeks now -it's expected.

....Just seen your other comment with Jen, I'll PM you.
