I don't know if you have seen this gents work, but he lists a modern walkway for USN ships, as well as a few other bits and pieces.https://www.shapeways.com/shops/EelRiverHobbies?s=0&section=Ships+1%3A96&page%5Bnumber%5D=2&page%5Blimit%5D=48&page%5Border%5D=asc

Thanks Akira , :-))  I have seen theses in the past. Unfortunately I’m not a fan of 3D printed fitting, you could say I’m Just old school.

I do Appreciate your comments and interest in this thread :-))

Hi Chris

I think I’d been doing to much modelling during the first and second lockdown and the fact I’d fully retired in March 2020 and over dosed and lost the interest in modelling.

Anyway been finishing off the master and I plan to making the mould later, then tomorrow I’ll see what the first casting come out like.

Thanks Chris,
Bad news, but I’ve just notice from the pictures there are some blow holes in the casting, but the major issue is that the panels are incorrect. So master and mould have just gone in the bin. So Starting to redo the master. What’s the old saying check twice  >>:-( cut once!!!!!

The AN SLQ 32 V6 is a early warning systems and supports the counter measures.

is the bottom chamfer the only problem?, grinding that down and filling the blow holes - would that not have solved the issue

Hi warspite,

I could have just recast another one but I notice the two sensor side panels where not the correct size, see actual photo the panel is wider than I made it.

Now I’ve done the AN SLQ 32 V6 sensors I’ve moved on to the next, which is the three AN SPG Fire control radars.

The radar dish is made from a seconds from SATCOM which I cut off the dome section in the lathe, then machine the front dished. This was then use as the master.
