Fusion 360
« on: December 12, 2019, 08:49:40 pm »

Hi,

For Fusion 360:

I haven't tried recently but I need to try again.  How I do get past the relatively new thing: professional (charged) or academic (proof of institute) -legitemate Hobbyist useage dissapeared a year or so ago now, or is certainly not as clear as it used to be!?
....last time I tried to get fusion 360 there was no way past fees so I've been stuck with tinkercad since.

Cheers,Richard

https://www.autodesk.com/campaigns/fusion-360-for-hobbyists is the link I would use. The Hobby level still exists.

Have they changed it from a program on the PC to an on-line thing like tinkercad (also from them). I have memories recently trying they required to join me to a group of folk, which I went "er, no thanks".

Pretty sure it's a large download - local install
I think you have to create a user account on their portal - but that's not that surprising.. I would imagine that this would be for marketing purposes...

Not online, although your files are 'in the cloud' they are yours unless you share them. Some functions use 'the cloud' for processing but otherwise it is all local.
