Evening All

Some more progress with the ski line, now the control lines are all connected with the two servos.  Lines go over a roller to line up with the hollow ski pole.  (Ski pole with the line is removable by pulling the cotter pin.)

Then out the top of the pole, and along the inside of the ski line...

And the far end of the ski line is now finished, a carbon handle...  The control lines exit before the handle attachment point.

So the ski line and control mechanism is now complete.

I've been working on some components of the Skis and bindings, pictures tomorrow.

Regards to all
David.

Afternoon All

The Aquarama build is getting close to being ready, that's going to be the ski boat, waiting for some chromed items including the ski pole to come back from platers:

So should get more time on the Skier.  I've been working on the skier herself, so she's now 'posed' more like a skier, and is stiffened to be a 'stressed' part of the build, I'm hoping to avoid additional bracing of the skis. Some work remains to sculpt her further, better shape and to lose some weight. Also working on the hinged connection plates between the skier and the skis:

In the pic above, that's a 3mm carbon rod running in a 3mm id copper pipe in her feet, very free to move.  Also the 3mm brass inserts in the skis to secure the plate.  Weight has to be kept low, so happy to use copper and brass in this (low) location. Plates are 3D printed.

And here the skis hinging:

Plan remains to lift the edges of the skis to add to the steering effect via the control lines coming down the ski line.

Best regards to all.
David.

Just a note to say I'm moving further updates to the Skier project to my main Aquarama thread as the skier is becoming part of that build: https://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,64276.500.html

Best regards to all.
