Hi JeffH,

Exactly which bits are you struggling with please?  Though not familiar with it myself I admit the description in the instructions isn't fantastic...

P40 of 77 which I guess might be the query which seems to be not translated as well as I've seen on other kits?  But it appears to have a nice set of diagrams / drawings which would make it look relatively easy to someone assuming some previous experience, or those with the parts in front of them on the bench.  Which is not always the case!  Can you give us a little more info please (any pics also would maybe help)?

Good Afternoon Rich, Please accept my apologies for not having replied sooner. My worry with the prop and drive setup is that the two part styrene motor brackets do not look strong enough. also drilling into the moulded hull is proving a very awkward poser. the angle is very acute. what type of drill bit will go through easiest and without damaging the coating

Hi jeffH,

I can't help you much on the motor mounts -these days I prefer for easyness the MFA motors c/w with brackets for the sake of a pound or two on the cost of a motor -its seems a no-brainer to me.

For drilling the hull I'm not sure what you're struggling with, obviously the shafts form an angle to the hull so it's not a round hole so you don't drill at te shaft angle.  You should really do the normal and apply good quality msking tape to the hull, transfer the dimensions and then start cutting the "oval" hole shape using multiple small drill bits then join up the holes and -use your imagination, some coarse paper wrapped round a dowel or tube smaller than the prop shaft which you CAN probably get near enough the right angle, then file and sand to suit until the hole is good enough, or you are happy to fill the gaps with resin and filler.  A mini-drill helps as it has higher speed and you can drill many small holes and join up with a blade, or sometimes just the drill bit if you're careful.  I also often use a "reamer" on grp mouldings -but filing and sanding works as well.

Hi Rich,

Thank you so much for the advice.Using a small drill bit has worked a treat. I think it's just a question of me learning new methods as I progress.
