Class Meko 360 - 1/72
« on: June 07, 2022, 09:40:15 pm »

Hello people! My name is Gian.I wanted to show you a model that started several years ago but in the end I left it abandoned in my home workshop. I am with the idea of resuming its construction and finishing it once and for all.  {-)
I was thinking that I shouldn't start other models that I have in mind without first finishing the first one that i started.

The ship is a German-built MEKO 360-class (3,600-tonne) medium frigate. This type of ship has the particularity that it is designed based on a modular system that allows rapid repair and modernization of its components if necessary. The version in question is a MEKO 360 H2 that was built under the specifications of the Navy of the Argentine Republic, only 4 of the 6 units ordered were built.

[/size] I haven't decided yet which of the 4 units my model will represent, but will decide soon (I'll probably name it after the "less famous" unit).I hope you like it. The pic:

Cheers! Gian.

Thank you very much! These days I will go to buy materials to continue with the hull of the ship. And then I will start to see how to adapt the helmet to be RC

Cheers! Gian.

PS: I apologize for the first post in Spanish. My computer automatically translated it into Spanish when I published it. Soon I will translate it into English for the convenience of everyone in the forum.

Hi Gian/Gyan
In the first post you introduced yourself as Gian and in your last post you signed as Gyan.
I have always considered it courteous to establish how a person prefers to be called, so if you could please advise which you prefer, so that I don't insult you.
No need to apologise for the Spanish it was easy enough to translate.
All the best

Hello everyone!
Thank you very much for the good comments!
These days I was repairing a bad job that he has been doing for a few years on the hull. This is the best he could leave. I trust that it will not cause me any future problems when I rebuild that part. Some photos:

On the other hand, I already ordered some sheets of "balsa wood" to finish lining the hull of the model.

Greetings to all! Gian.

Thank you very much Chris! At first I had made it out of cardboard but it seemed very fragile so I glued each block on a "terciado" that was in my house and then cut them.
For now I am waiting for some 1.5mm thick sheets that I order to complete the hull lining. Then I had in mind to cover the wood with a layer of fiberglass to reinforce and neaten it up. Once this stage is completed I will have to investigate how to build the shafts for the propellers, I will have to read the forum a bit to learn how it is done since it would be my first time doing this type of work.

Cheers! gian

WELL Gian  if you look through my tiger build it will show you how to fit the prop shafts so there should not be any problems
