New to RC boating and building a quadruple screw ship, using 2 outrider motors on the port coupled together via 2 x reversing ESC. and the same set up on the starboard side and a single rudder servo. In my picture I am only showing 1 port and 1 starboard motor.Having a nightmare with the RC setup as a novice.
Can anyone help with the setup of my system?
I fail to get any sane setup! Have read so many posts generally re tank steering, Mixes 1-3 High offsets, motor speed matching, trimming and so forth but seem to be way of target with each attempt, sometimes no response mostly though motors run at ver high speeds and can not be slowed to a stop, (both gimbals are self centering) sometimes random speeds in one direction but not reversing in most attempts.
What I would like to end up with is each stick to control just 1 motor each ahead, centre off and reversing, another spare Chanel for the rudder, on whatever stick works using side to side movement 9i actually managed to do this bit! more luck than knowledge.
The idea is to use the rudder when in open water with all shafts turning outwards then when manoeuvring I would centre the rudder and use port and starboard propellers to turn the ship, just like in real life.
I set the transmitter to fixed wing aircraft and mode 2.
Can anyone help with the perfect newbies guide for absolute beginners?
So far over 150 hours 3D printing so many more hours of printing for the reset of the ship to be done yet, but it seems a good time to get the engineering sorted out!
All help will be much appreciated.
