  Greetings everyone,
 
    Sunday the 25th we are having our final   Bring and Buy day for 2024, £5 per table for visitors.

 Our last meeting was very well attended with a good selection of boats and bits on offer, Bacon butties Tea and Coffee will be available on the day. Steve from Scale Hobbies will also be there with his stand. Feel free to come and visit (this is the last Bring and Buy this year) start time 08.30 hours, hopefully we will have decent weather again.

  Hi Everyone,
        There are conflicting weather forecasts (alleged gales, but we all remember Michael Fish's prediction when Sevenoaks became 1 oak) for our area on Sunday (the last bring and buy event of 2024) so the committee will be making a decision tomorrow morning early on whether or not the event will go ahead, I have only just found this out so I wanted to let everyone know that I will add a further post tomorrow morning as soon as the committee let me know what is happening.

hi Pete,

the second phase of the depression has started to  hit Blackpool and fleetwood area now, so hopefully by mid morning tomorrow should be calming down with a decent and possibly sunny 18c day by sunday and monday.

Wouldn't stake my life on it but should be a decent sunday and monday bank holiday break.

good luck with the bring and buy at Southport.

     Unfortunately due to the awful weather forecast for tomorrow the planned Bring and Buy day has been cancelled. The event will now take place in a week's time on September the 1st starting at 08.30 hours, the usual bacon butties hot and cold drinks will be available on the day. Please feel free to attend this  our final bring and buy day of 2024.

well, i dont think i'll get a job as a weather man or meteorologist after todays forgast............    it's p******ing it down up here.

  Yes I can only agree, Michael Fish "no there is no hurricane" then 7 oaks became 1 oak. It has to be, apart from being a Politician allegedly representing their constituency, that you can fail completely and still be paid an outrageous salary without redress for failure.
     On a lighter note, at 08.30 hours we had bright sun and very little cloud although it was a 12/14 MPH wind then less than an hour later black skies and the start of rain and a much stronger wind. Later there was more rain but none of the predicted 40/45 MPH gales but hey what do us normal people know?
       You have to laugh or you would just give up. Hopefully next weekend will bring acceptable weather and we can go ahead with the final of 2024 Bring and buy day.
               Watch this space I will keep you all updated on whether the Bring and buy will go ahead.

  Greetings everyone,
                           I am really pleased to say we had another brilliant Bring and Buy event, very good attendance (car park full and most of Rotten row outside the pond) and thankfully no rain. The weather was cloudy but quite warm, around 20/21 degrees with a pleasant breeze. Lots of boats on the water and a good selection of items on offer. Paul and the catering crew were non stop until around 12.20 when we ran out of goodies so hats off to everyone involved. We had a trial run of the TV part of our new display stand which turned out really well, it's now ready for Blackpool in October. I had lots of positive comments from visitors re the facilities we offer (Bacon/ sausage/egg butties and burgers/hot n cold drinks) which made all the efforts of members involved in providing this service worthwhile, thank you all for your positive comments.
          Okay folks that's our daytime events over, apart from Blackpool, until next year. Hopefully we will see you all again in 2025. Starting tomorrow we are installing a completely new electric mains system to our clubhouse which will provide a more facilities and constant power to our units (Paul our Chef will be extremely happy with no power cuts) together with our own Wi Fi.
