i have a model that has a rotating and elevating foward gun , the rotation is via a small motor under the deck , however ive fitted a small servo to operate the elevation of the barrel , ive plugged this into the 5th channel . my problem is that wherever the switch is ie on or off the barrel will elevate BUT NOT return to its downward position ! is this a fault with the radio ?

Hi. Have a look at the servo reversing panel bottom right hand side of the Tx on the front. Remove the tinted cover and if you look at the CH5 switch underneath, it will say either ON / OFF or SLOW / NORMAL. If switch is in OFF position simply switch to ON position, however if it says SLOW / NORMAL it will be on regardless of which position its in.
Hopefully this will help...

its the slow / normal switch on this unit ,ive tried both positions on the switch in the reversing ssection of the tx . when the switch on the top of the tx is operated the servo will only operate in one direction , but wont return to its original position ?

Plug a different servo in that channel and see what happens with that, plug the elevation servo into a different channel and see what happens. For figuring out whether I have a problem servo or something else in the system I go one of ACTions servo swingers.

ive already put several servos into the receiver socket , and each one responds just the same , it works in one direction only , ok when the servo has reached its full travel but it wont return to neutral when the switch is turned to the other position !

Then its either the transmitter or receiver. Over to someone who actually knows the ins and outs of a planet t5. Its not some obscure facility hidden in the instructions?

The fifth channel is normally there as a gear retract and gear extend switch for the fliers so default should work both ways unless your're into belly landings.
I think it's read the manual time!
