Naviga - World championships
« on: December 28, 2023, 01:59:35 pm »

Hi all
Has anyone ever been to the Naviga World championships??
I saw that they are on for 10days in 2024 about 25 minutes away from
The father in-laws house in Hungary.
Before I say to the good lady that we should go and see him about then,
Has anybody attended this before and is it worth while to visit as a spectator?

I realise it won’t be a Blackpool or Dortmund kind of show bit input about what it
Is would be appreciated.

.... Unfortunately,  so many new, old & established clubs / events / intuitions, don't understand the value of social Media,

     and next breath ask, 'How do we attract young blood to the hobby?!' ....... sigh.   {:-{

Thanks Sven
I think I’m definitely going to look into visiting.
I passed the park yesterday where it’s to be held
It is close to his house  %)

I agree Martin,
We need to get model boating out into the big wide world more
But some times it’s just not enough.

Four of our members attended the 1979 Naviga champs in Duisberg. Right about seeing models of an exceedingly high standard. all comps run in a canal and the campsite was good also. Alan Bosworth won the Christmas tree steering comp. If you can get, go. nemesis

It would help if uploading photos was simple.

Ronnie,
That is a problem with forums like this but other social media platforms are really good if used correctly.
I saw someone building 3d model boats on instagram and it was very interesting.

I understand people’s reluctance to use these platforms but for groups and clubs it could be
a way to connect to the next generation of modellers.

It couldn’t actually be any easier to do. There’s even a step by step guide available to show you how to  %)
