Something different - a trolleybus model. This 1:13 scale model of a Skoda tbus is interesting at the end, when all the doors open which is a nice modelling feature.

The 1:1 scale ones are still very popular in cities such as Salzburg but haven't made a comeback in the UK yet. Systems are planned for Leeds and London, but nothing concrete to date. A fraction the cost of a tram system, every bit as green, but is still likely to get stuck in city traffic.

I had a look and found a few other youtube clips of the model and in this one the operater is holding an r/c handset. It is only a very quick shot at the beginning - don't blink or you will miss it! Thanks for the reply to my post and the interest shown.

Out of curiosity I took a look on Wiki at the trolleybus systems in Canada and a system is currently in use in Vancouver. Operated by Translink this looks a good modern system.

One of my favourite sounds of all time are any big engines spooling up to full power, big (old) electric motors, jets, turbines...
I love those harmonics that the motor generates / passes through.
