Boris' Dickie Tugboat
« on: November 06, 2009, 03:02:10 pm »

  [img] http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/kamarradaboris/100_5645.jpg [/ img]

  [img] http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/kamarradaboris/100_5655.jpg [/ img]

  [img] http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/kamarradaboris/100_5651.jpg [/ img]

  [img] http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/kamarradaboris/100_5656.jpg [/ img]

  [img] http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/kamarradaboris/100_5660.jpg [/ img]

  [img] http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/kamarradaboris/100_5662.jpg [/ img]

  [img] http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/kamarradaboris/100_5661.jpg [/ img]

  [img] http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/kamarradaboris/100_5664.jpg [/ img]

  Continuamos con el forrado.

  [img] http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/kamarradaboris/100_5667.jpg [/ img]

  [img] http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/kamarradaboris/100_5646.jpg [/ img]

[/ Size] [/ color]

  [img] http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/kamarradaboris/100_5671.jpg [/ img]

  [img] http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu274/kamarradaboris/100_5672.jpg [/ img]

Google(ish) Translation ......

 Part 1.

Inside (here?)I have (my?) personal fleet, a tug that sea crossing to buy it for my father who accompanied me to navigate (sail?)
my models, and to somehow also be entertained (have fun?).

It is a model of what is called "Ready to Run" is to charge batteries and use it, Though I always made through toy, school type game, (although I thought it looked like a toy?). Curiously came out very good, never has problems, highly manoeuvrable, and durable
[recovering from a brutal collision with a speedboat, with the consequent collapse, their recovery and re-tuned](repaired?).

Lately, we have decided to maintenance and Mayor Making Adjustment to order To make the draft, and more To  make it seem
real  (more realistic?), so a procedure to disarm(renovate?) fully, rewriting Motors and from, ballast, bridge, etc.
(A queda ver que tal) (???)

After several years of use, the model is somewhat battered, so we proceed to work towards the principle of retirement accounts(Replace?), the crane, the lifeboat and base, as well as the machinery of the winch. Absolutely all the material that
served as a coupling to the aforementioned parts of the United Nations (...deck / surfaces???) so that it is completely smooth surface.

paint it black cover previously was a horrible green.

The black lines that appear between the wood are traces of  black paint on the edges to mimic the caulking,
but I do not like, so leave him alone in the centre, such as wood and carry a colour of aged wood, did not show.

With small strips of wood, lining a procedure for Trace trace, the aft deck, which is the biggest.

I dry the deck, use the mini-brush, to match any irregular edge

(by the way I show you some of my small tool, fully functional for such detailed work)

Part 4

Ballast restructuring. Central box that appears, is an airtight case, which has external grilles out of the hull,
which permit entry of water and serves as ballast, as well as water tank for water balloon the ejectors to fire.
The detail, it takes the ship to be ballasted until it fills, in addition to a full tank is more, tends to "shore up" go
to the side When you turn, or swing of more .-. How this added two steel bars on each side to give more weight
and stability. "Still missing the weight of the battery, I think that this will be enough (evidence will be needed)

The interior of the helmet (hull?) in another view.

Well, the progress of these days have been detailed, Lumbreras The Toll Booth green paint, add "portholes"
that are nothing more than "little eyes" metal used for shoes, also were added around the draft of the tug.

Fabrice with plastic slug, wire, thread, etc. Some accessories, such as oil drums, fire extinguishers, hose (with Waste disposable lighters), bollards, etc.

survey the full cockpit forward, to leave space for a fireplace and fastened with copper wire, bracing for a way.

Looks very nice! (especially the planked wood deck, which I really should have attempted on my own model) Interesting to see how many different approaches there are to improving this RTR boat.

Cross post from Dickie Tugboat / Seaport Workboat as this seems to be more up-to-date.

I am working on my version of the SeaPort Work Boat. It is based on Clyde Marine's Stantug 1906 Battler. This will enable a 1/32 scale model which should look appropriate alongside my colleagues' Mobile Marine models (less work but much more money!)

However, having looked a loads of pictures before I made my choice, I have several more versions in mind for future conversions, so I thought I'd get a couple more kits in stock ready for the next Winter-workshop season. Unfortunately, Howes is currently out of stock.

Google led me to http://www.rcscale.co.uk/eshop/proddetail.php?prod=RCB-SEAPOR. The price looks good at £27.48 each. Sadly the checkout says Goods £54.96, Shipping £58.60!

Either rcscale.co.uk has a serious error in their checkout calculator or they think I was born yesterday! Avoid this supplier until they fix the error or decide to be less greedy.

I gave rcscale.co.uk the opportunity to reply to my concerns.  I sent the following note to the e-mail address (rcsupport312@rcscale.co.uk) on their website:

Clearly there is an error in your "checkout" calculator. My provisional order showed Goods £54.96, Shipping £58.60!
I don't think you'll get much custom until you have fixed this. Needless to say, I'll be warning my fellow modellers to avoid your store for the time being.

I wasted my time.  My e-mail just resulted in "Remote host said: 550 No Such User Here"!  I guess they don't want to know. Maybe you know differently, but they look like cowboys to me!
