I still have to modify the winch to ensure it works reliably. However, I won't be able to prevent the bucket from twisting.

The hull is buoyant. It is a box made of 4mm plywood but decorated with rivets. And for the first time in his element.

Hi Ralph - your rivets look amazing !  wondering how they are produced please?
Guessing blobs of PVA? dropped into what looks like a scratched/scribed? circular outline to constrain the glue??
if I'm correct what gadget creates the circles?
Looks a great solution to a tedious problem - I have an ongoing project requiring metres of the little blighters !!
Paul.

Pretty sure I've just seen this on one of subwaterfilm's videos. Very impressive

It was a impressive sight to se it sail past us  at Roland's Oase, we were 10 Danes that went there this year.
A lot of very impressive models this year, and Subwaterfilm's were there as usually  :-))
Only downside were that the main pool were out of action as the groundwater had pushed up the bottom of it.

Interestingly, you would tend to think that if they had kept the pool full there might not have been such a differential pressure across the floor and it might not have bowed as much.

Hi Paul
is a template made of brass sheet, I used a milling bench for it. Rendered in pencil. The plate joint is scratched with a needle. And then drip on simple wood glue.
