Hi Martin,
Made mine months ago and found it a great kit for the money only hard part in getting every thing plus your fingers in side such a small hull but it can be done. mines a docking tug.

Let me know if he doesn’t. I think I still have a copy. BTW, my modified Q1 was the first boat I Ever sank. Heeled WWAAYY over in a turn and down it went. I’ve since modified it but it is a fair seas hull.

Nicely done Martin - that's Christmas sorted for me !

With nil progress whatsoever on the big 1/6 scale similar logging tug - my new workshop builds dragging on -
I think I could fill the big'uns hull with water and sail this little gem up and down inside the hatch coamings !!

Yes I have some where will start digging, Martin I noticed in your you didn't seam to get a speed controller with yours to all reading this please make sure you get the real thing as there's a lot of chines copies' out where mine was about £40 so amazing value.

I'm not sure its still possible to buy the original kit - only Chinese copies which don't include everything you got. I noticed that the Ebay link Martin posted says 'Print your own parts'
If anyone knows how to get an original kit with all the parts I would be very interested. I have built one of the copies which came with electrics or printed parts.

Barrier you are right I saw a posting from the original owner of the kit and he stated a price of approx. 60£ +P&P and that P&P would be high due to weight of all the parts, he also stated that some people had requested to buy the 3D printed parts and then they listed a knock off incl. the 3 D parts for a low amount on ebay / Aliexpress etc. They even use his original pictures for the adds.

I did buy one of those knock-offs on Aliexpress and got a 100% refund when I filed a complaint.
That is also the reason that the QR code do not work.

....yes, slap on some primer and sand it back. Makes life much easier later IMO if you have that option, even if you need to re-coat and sand back later.

I would of thought you'd get a better bond with just bare wood as the wood glue will soak into the grain, if you apply primer then the grain will be sealed.

I got one of these a long time ago sadly there where no plans or instructions with it so still not built, I know many of you will say it is easy to build but I'm not the greatest builder by any means, so if anyone could photo copy these I would be happy to pay postage.

You can tack it together with superglue, then get some brushable epoxy resin and coat the hull inside and out. The epoxy will both seal the wood, and also strengthen it enormously.

If you add a layer of 25gram glass cloth or use some old nylon tights on the outside of the hull with the epoxy, you'll have a very tough and waterproof hull.

Martin,
Superglue is water solvent so you would need to ensure that the paint coat is good.
If you can get it there try the ruberised glue it is the only superglue i know of that is slightly flexable.

.... never actually glass clothed any of my boats before, always counted on too many coats of paint.... and a spare 'touch-up' can!

Forgot about the tights 'hack'!
