Hi Crew looking at a way hopefully single plug and play connection for my model  to lift off superstructure disconnect wiring plug to allow superstructure to sit beside model in this case there are the following wires for operation of electrics 1.servos for twin 40mm bofors single std servo ,two for Mk51 Gun Directors micro servos,  and two for 20 mm gun's micro servo as well all on the same if possible Y joint connection 5 servos together in one operation,  2. Led Signal light , 3. Led search light ,4.Interior Led lights both on superstructure and in Pilothouse, 5.micro servo for Pilothouse door to open close, 6. Navigation lights, port stb mast head , my question is how do I wire these so they are in a plug that is connected to the superstructure and just plugs into a socket fixed to the opening in the hull where the superstructure sits  looking for both long term usage and reliability, good connection etc any and all input help much appreciated tassie48

As Derek said computer “D” plugs, I’ve used this method many times on my models. also this method I find its good to hide them under a locker or some other decking fitting.

I have used this type of push fit plug successfully in the past.  Having six terminals in them allows you to connect three independent circuits or you could even arrange to have one common and five switched feeds to allow for five things of a common voltage to be controlled.  The beauty is the piece of the model is simply lifted off or dropped place to make or break the connections.  The trick is perfect alignment, which was achieved by fitting one connector into the removable section, assembling the plug and then fitting the section in place with glue on the other connector.  Once this had set and the section removed the connector in the hull was then beefed up with additional braces and more glue.  With hindsight the male connector would have been better fitted into the removable section but were only talking 6v here so it's not going to get changed.

I use d sockets between the superstructure and hull.   I make an extension lead to go between them while on the bench
