Servo prob.

Just up graded my boat from 6v to 7.2v.  Now I have a servo inside boat which has stopped working. Is it possible the 7.2 volt battery is too high for the servo and blown it.

It would depend on the where the Rx power supply comes from, it should be either be a 5volt BEC from the ESC or a separate Rx battery up to 6volt, so the servo should never get 7.2 volt.

Servo is plugged in receiver. But like I said it has now a 7.2 battery to it via esc. Just might be coincidence that it's stopped working. Is it possible to wire it direct to a battery to test if it works. This would rule out receiver problem.  If it has one.

The lead from the ESC is the BEC and is only 5 volts regardless of the voltage of the main battery, it sounds like a faulty servo.

Apart from fitting it into a known working installation, the only way to test a servo is to plug it into a servo tester.  About 2 quid from fleabay.  Powering it just applies power, to check its working it needs a pulsed signal on the third wire.
