Futaba T6J 6-Channel setup......or is it?
« on: June 08, 2024, 02:24:21 pm »

I'm using one of the above for a model with a number of functions. 4 channels are 2 normal sticks and number 5 is a flip switch. Channel 6, however, is a small rotary knob which would be ideal for gun pointing but appears not to work independently. The Futaba book carries lots of data on linking it up with another channel for use on flaps. I realise that it's primarily an aircraft/helo set but have I missed something? Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks :-))

CH6 is an independent control channel and it can be linked to any other by using the two personal mixes (PMX). Ensure each of the various inbuilt flight mixes and the PMX mixes are inhibited and retry. If that frees it up you can mix it how you wish with the PMX options.

Thanks for that :-)) I reckon that a mix mode was set as a default at some stage and since C6 has never been used by me it's just stuck there. I assume that if I do a reset for that model it should clear any specific mix settings? It'll be good if it does because it could be such a useful channel!
Cheers

Thanks again for the pointers Mr Lownotes. All sorted with a reset and a simple play with EPA's etc :-))

You're welcome.  The T6J has been around some time time now.
Just don't try using it to drive an 'Action' P94 Dual Esc And Mixer 2 X 20 Amp.
There is a strange incompatibility with the way it multiplexes its channels (there's even a note in the P94's detail sheet about it).
Otherwise it's OK working with anything else.

Thanks for the warning!...YES REALLY!!! The next project I'm in the middle of planning would probably have called for exactly that. A P94 plus a single P80 ('cos it will run VERY slowly) for the centre shaft of the 3 needed!!
 :-)) :-)) :-)) Tony
